We booked three different tours with Julio from Marbella in Style. Each was unique and wonderful. Julio told us about the history of each place we visited, brought us to interesting out of the way places to eat, lunch in Granada at Ruta del Veleta. Tour to Ronda was amazing. Visited the bullfighting stadium, walked along the gorge and then headed to wine country. First we visited Juaquin Fernandez Bodega. Excellent tour of the winery, delicious wine. Next up was lunch at Bodega Garcia Hildago where we toured the vineyard, ate grapes right off the vine, and had an amazing home-cooked meal made by Isabella alongside wines made by Miguel. Top notch all the way. By the time we parted, we felt like Julio was not just our host but a good friend.

Jullio was an outstanding tour guide. The vehicle he pick us up in was clean and comfortable. He arrived at our hotel at the exact time he said he would be there. On the way to Ronda Spain he pointed out many of the sites along the way. His English was easy to understand and he has a great sense of humor. Upon our arrival in Ronda he took us on an outstanding walking tour missing almost all of the crowds who were there so we we could see the great views. He explained everything we were looking at in great detail. Never did he stop at any tourist traps for shopping which was greatly appreciated. We left Ronda on our way to two wineries which were outstanding. At the first winery we tasted 6 different red wines all were great. Then on to the next winery where we tasted wine and had an outstanding lunch prepared by the owners of that winery. To say it was over the top would be a miss statement. The food was Delicious and the wine was great. If you are in the Costa Del Sol area and looking for a great day trip this one comes highly recommended.

« We had the pleasure of beeing guided by Julio for two wonderful days in Marbella and in Ronda.

The first day started with a guided walking tour in the old town Marbella with Julio. Then we ended up with wine tasting in the center of the old town. It is a culinary sanctuary for high quality olive oil and wine from the Andalusian region. David, the owner and our host, shared his knowledge enthusiastically and a chef was cooking wonderful dishes, while we tasted wines, olive oils and delicious food from the region. This place is a gem!

Next day we were also picked up at the house in the morning. On our way from Marbella to Ronda we stopped up in the mountains to have a traditionally Spanish mountain breakfast at “Venta La Parrilla” before we drove to the first vineyard: “Bodega Descalzos Viejos”.

We were met by one of the owner Flavio Salesi, that took us for a walk in the old garden surrounding the house, an old convent founded in 1505. He and his partner (both architects) bought the place in 1998 and restored it. After a walk in the beautiful garden we sat down under an old avocado tree and while Flavio told us of the wines and life in general – it was magical sitting there and we never wanted it to end!

Next stop on our route was a small ecological family driven vineyard: Bodega Garcia Hidalgo. This little vineyard was funded in 2006. We vent for a little walk among the vines and señor Garcia Hidalgo told us about the grapes and the production. Inside the winery and the cellar we tasted grape must and and young wine before the wine tasting. The Señora had cooked us a delicious meal – lots of courses and we sat outside in the shadow and tasted the wines and had a very, very nice meal.

Because of the hospitality at both of the vineyards we were a bit late according to schedule and for our guided walk in Ronda. But regardless of this, Julio took his time to show us the highlights of this beautiful, old city before we headed back to the house.

Thank you so much for memorable and eventful days Julio – we will be back and we will definitively recommend Marbella in-Style! »

A very interesting and copious day, with good wines and good food. I will definitely use Marbella in-Style again.

Julio took our group of six on a one day tour of Ronda and the surrounding vineyards. Like many of the other reviewers, we began with a local breakfast that was a great introduction to some local foods but not for anyons who is on a diet! We then had a wonderful tour of a local vineyard, Joaquin Fernandez, and a good introduction to winemaking in the area as well as some lovely wines. Next we transitioned to a walking tour of Ronda and the finished the day with a tour and lunch provided by Isabelle at her and her husbands small vineyard. The food was obviously prepared with love by her tia (aunt). It was like having dinner at a long lost relatives house – we felt like part of the family when we left. Julio provided us with a good mix of history and current events all along the way. We highly recommend using him and his service.
