If you’re planning a trip to Marbella in the heart of the Costa Del Sol, you might be dreaming about beaches, seafood and nights spent in the plaza listening to music and dancing up a storm. Unless you happen to be traveling with a golf enthusiast. Then finding the best golf courses in Marbella is likely to be very high on your list of priorities.

Fortunately, while it might not be what this strip of Spain’s coast is most famous for, there is no shortage of top golf clubs in Marbella! In fact, at last count, there were over 20 golf clubs and courses in this area, so you’re going to be spoiled for choice. Here are a few of the very best options on offer, so you can take your pick.

Real Club de Golf Las Brisas

Real Club de Golf Las Brisas was founded in 1968 and has a reputation not only as one of the best glove courses in Marbella, but one of the best in Europe! It is ranked at medium difficulty and features 18 holes that meander through the Robert Trent Jones course.

The club also features excellent amenities off the greens and fairways, including a well appointed restaurant. So, you can turn your golf outing into a full day event. There is also a pro shop if you need to buy any equipment.

Aloha Golf Club

Aloha Gold Club might not sound like it would be one of the top golf clubs in Marbella, but that’s exactly what it is. A full 18 hole, par 72 course, it was designed by the world famous course designer Javier Arana and is considered one of the best courses in Andalucía.

This course regularly hosts championship games.

Los Naranjos Golf Club

Another Robert Trent Jones course, Los Naranjos Golf Club was founded in 1977, and currently ranks number 19 on the list of top 100 courses in Southern Spain. There is an 18 hole and 9 hole option. Both include golf cart rental and are for the high season. Discounted rates are available for out of season bookings.

Perhaps one of the best things about this course (and one that makes it one of the top golf courses in Marbella) is that there is an on site hair and beauty salon, along with a fantastic restaurant and well equipped pro shop. Which means that if you’re traveling with a lady who doesn’t golf, there’s something else to be done while you play a round or two.

Marbella Golf and Country Club

The Marbella Golf and Country Club is an 18 hole, par 72 course with 6000 meters of greens and fairways. It is another Robert Trent Jones course, but this one is fairly new – having been built in 1989.

This course is built among the hills and is both beautiful and challenging. There is a world class restaurant in the clubhouse, along with a boutique, conference facilities, a golf academy and tennis courts. All of which make this a fantastic course to visit during your stay in Marbella.

The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina

The Real Club de Golf Guadalmina was designed by Javier Arana and has been operational since 1959, which not only makes it one of the top golf courses in Marbella, but also one of the oldest!

This well designed course is located right next to the ocean, so if you like your golf with a sea breeze, it’s the perfect choice.

There are actually two 18 hole courses here – the North course and the South course.

La Quinta Golf

La Quinta Golf is another relatively new golf course, and it also opened in 1989. If you like your golf with palm trees along the greens, then this one should be close to the top of your list.

Unlike most of the best golf courses in Marbella, this course, designed by Manuel Pinero actually has three sections of 9 holes for a total of 27 holes. There is also a practice area, a golf academy and store and a restaurant.
